What is a diff checker?
A diff checker compares two blocks of text or code and highlights exactly what changed — added lines, removed lines and edited lines side by side. It replaces the manual scan where small edits hide inside long paragraphs.
It is used by developers reviewing a patch, writers checking a revision, and anyone verifying that a config change did only what it claimed. The comparison runs entirely in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
How to compare two texts
- Paste the original text into the Left (Old) pane.
- Paste the revised text into the Right (New) pane.
- Press Compare to run the line-by-line comparison.
- Read the result view: removed lines and added lines are marked, and matching lines are left plain.
- Use Swap to invert the direction, or Copy Left / Copy Right to move a side back out.
- Clear both panes to start a new comparison.
